L..O..N..D..O..N

Last Thursday I shipped out for London on the 3:30 a.m. bus. Terrible hour. Anywho, we left Galway, rode the bus to Shannon, hitched a plane to London, and BAM! there we were. Because none of us really slept the night before, we checked into our hostel and slept most of the day. While we were there, we were out and about all over the place. The first thing we did was go to King's Cross Station. Yep, Harry Potter geeks ;) and the pictures should explain the rest. I'll put them up chronologically through the trip.

Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross Station

The Marble Arch

The changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. This was made infinitely cooler because the marching guards played music from Star Wars.

Big Ben

The London Eye. We went as the sun was setting and it was GORGEOUS!

The Tower Bridge. It is technically considered a ship for some reason. Hmm...

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

The Wobley Bridge with St. Paul's Cathedral in the background. The Tate Modern Art Museum is so right there and it is one of the strangest places that I have ever been. Back to the bridge--at the beginning of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, this is the bridge that gets snapped.

The National Gallery on Trafalgar Square. It also happened to be the Chinese New Year, so it was PACKED. Neato burrito.

  2. This is an actual police report:

"An elderly Merrill woman stated that a bear on a bicycle had vandalized her bird feeder Friday. She suspected that the bear, described as big, had fled from the circus because an ordinary bear could not ride a bicycle so well."
