Houston...You know the rest

I LOST MY CAMERA CORD. Not a huuuuge problem, but most of the unposted ugly sweater pictures are on my camera and cannot be accessed without the said cord :/ Sad day. Big Sis #2 and I also made a Christmas video, but after four attempts it's still not uploading...technology isn't working for me today apparently soooo.....

Happy New Year!! (That topic will come soon.)

[12 hours later....]

Soon as in right now. It's 3 am and I've had quite the New Year already. Quick synopsis: 4 parties, lots of food, fireworks, 2 movies, lots of food, hot cocoa, ball dropping, Auld Lang San, and lots of food. (You may notice a pattern, and I don't think I can adequately tell you all how much food I actually ate. It was a lot. As in enough to make me throw up. Gross. That's A LOT of food. Too much info? Sorry.) Anywho, resolution time!!!

{Ahem} My resolutions are as follows: graduate with highest honors, figure out something to do for the next year/get accepted to grad school/actually take the GRE, recuperate from the disaster that was the entire last half of 2010, aaaaaand I think that's about it. Generally get my life in some kind of order; can't ask for much else, eh? ;) Also, I have a resolution to refine some of my current hobbies. I love learning how to do stuff--sewing, painting, quilting, reading, playing instruments, collecting stuff from the 70s, writing this blog, jewelry, photography, building cameras...I love all of it. The more stuff I have to do, the better. Whooooo!!!!!

It's a new year and a good time to leave all of the less-than-ideal stuff behind, starting NOW! :) Starting with my new musical obsession: Marianas Trench. Yeeesssssss. Amazing. Happy New Years everyone :) Hope it's a good one.

Merry Christmas!!

A little early, yes, but whatevs. I'm headed to the Mothership this afternoon aka the land of dialup (hello, rural Montana), delicious food and NO SNOW ON THE GROUND. Booyah. Anywho, I'll post the rest of the ugly sweater pictures upon my return. In the meantime, I hope y'all get to spend time with your peeps, read Luke 2, remember the Savior and the reason we celebrate this time of year, and have a very Merry Christmas!! :)

Happy Holidays, everyone!

#9-#17

Whew. That was a lot of photo uploading. 'Oh was it?' you ask. Yes, yes it was. And here are 8 wonderful days of ugly sweater goodness for your viewing pleasure!!

EPIC FAIL. I was had a rough all-nighter of paper editing and the sweater was not happening.

A Day...or 7...Later

Well helllooooo!!! First of all, I will start by saying that while I have been plugging along with the daily ugly sweaters, the pictures are slow in making their appearance--I'll post them eventually. Next order of business....DONE WITH FINALS. One more semester and I'm outta this joint.

In entirely unrelated news here is a list of books that I like a whole bunch so I'm suggesting them to YOU:

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
The Little Prince By Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom
1984 by George Orwell
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

Righty-o. I'm suggesting this list because it is Christmas Break, meaning that I have time to clean my room and reeeaaaaaddd!!! Both of which need doing because they have been neglected for much, much too long. Welp, that's all. Peace out.

Sweater #8

The song of the day is "The Rain Don't Last" by Hope.

Could it be the world's gone colder?
Maybe, I'm a losing soul
The more I try it just gets harder
And my pain is getting old
Somebody said that nothing lasts forever
Just the storm so I've been told
But it seems that when it rains it pours

And you know the rain won't last forever
And you know the storm won't always flow
But if the sun don't shine forever
You gotta let it go

Sometimes my burdens get so heavy
And it seems too hard to bear
Sometimes I feel so empty
And it feels like no one's there
Somebody said that nothing lasts forever
Just the storm so I've been told
But it seems that when it rains it pours

And you know the rain won't last forever
And you know the storm won't always flow
But if the sun don't shine forever
You gotta let it go

And the sweater of the day is this lovely little number. I in fact did wear it most of the day, but Big Sis needs to borrow it, so by the time this picture was taken I (obviously as you can see) was no longer wearing it and yes, that is Big Sis #1. Those skiers are 3D by the way; they are sewn onto the sweater.

HAPPY 100 TO ME!

Yeah, that's right. 100 posts of pure awesome spanning 466 days, 105 pictures, 37 music recommendations, 8 countries, 2 Halloween costumes, and a whole lot of blog nerdery (I like that word a lot...).

Anywho, today we have another nice hunting sweater, as I had to do a mock court for my law class, it couldn't be anything too fancy ;) Upon walking into a different class, this conversation proceeded to happen:

Classmate: Oh look! We are both wearing nice sweaters.
Me: Well it is ugly sweater December.
C: I don't know what you're talking about! Our sweaters aren't ugly. How about today it can be December 7th Good Sweater day...December Seven Sweater Heavenly....Sweater....Seventh of December...

So here we are in our sweaters, whether they are ugly or lovely or what have you.

In unrelated news, a few months ago for one of my classes we had to make a commercial for the college of Business. Not exactly Spielberg, but I did get a $25 iTunes gift card out of it. Sweeet!

Sweater #6

It is bizarre how quickly textbooks go out of date. Take, for example, my promotions textbook--NEWEST edition, copyright 2009. It lists Bebo as a legit form of social networking, Facebook as having only 30.6 million users (now 500 million+), and has 18-34 year olds (now 45+) as the heaviest users. Whoa buddy.

Anywho, that's the fun marketing nerdery for the day. Also for the day, here is the ugly sweater. Strangely, when my family first moved into the house in which the parentals are currently residing, the wallpaper in the kitchen strikingly resembled this lovely, lovely sweater...same colors and everything! (By the way, that's how you know a sweater is good--it comes with matching wall paper.)

That's about all I've got. Peace out.

Welp, Glad That's Over

Here we have today's lovely piece of textile beauty.

And yes, I did wear it to church.

End of Week Spirit

Today's happenings in a nutshell: work, football game, hung out at home, Christmas stroll, home, now homework shortly. For now however, I bring you sweater #4. Note that the turtle neck is sew onto the sweater, that is neat.

**Please don't judge me that I have a self-taken picture in a mirror. I had forgotten all day to get a picture.**

Christmas Partyus

Today the ugly sweater was in fact a sweater vest. It was a bright red number, sporting gold-colored buttons fashioned after ancient Roman coins. Classy. The boss was also feeling festive as you can see from her fab dress :D

And in case you're wondering the 'us' at the end of the title comes from Ugly Sweater. Righty-o.

Class Presentation Ugly Sweater

That's right. Today I had a group presentation in one of my classes, and in continuing the lovely Christmas spirit, I wore an ugly sweater and recruited one of the other members of the team to do the same. Booyah!! Ok, granted his took the cake for the day; I figured mine shouldn't be hideous, so I stuck with a wool hunting sweater that in reality was not that bad at all. His however, was amazing.

Ugly Sweater December Has Started **Updated**

Whooo!!! For every day of December until Christmas I will wear a different ugly sweater, ugly sweatshirt, or ugly sweater vest. Some of them worse than others. Here is cardigan #1.

Now that we've got that covered, I have a few items of business to address.
  1. Some hateful, unhappy little person broke into Big Sis #2's car. While it was parked in a church parking lot. Happy holidays to them, too.
  2. I know more about the ski industry than I ever cared to, so if you ever want to know about specialty ski sales, I'm your girl.
  3. I am looking at craft blogs for a class. I love my major :)
  4. Florence + the Machine rocks. Glee finally got something right this season.
  5. I just scored the suh-weeetest dining room set. For free. I love college towns for the inordinate amount of free, totally rockin' furniture available. I'll post pics once it's painted. Try not to be too jealous.
  6. I may or may not have done an entire load of laundry with the washer lid open. Ooops.
  7. Flannel sheets during the winter = pure heavenly bliss
That's all for now. Peace out.
