Saturday Shenanigans

So remember the movie I was going on about last night?? Yep. Made it 10 minutes in and then decided to stop watching and go fry stuff. Yeah, that's right. Liiiike coat everything we could find in tempura and deep fat fry it. Delicious. Oh yes--Snickers, zucchini, beets, pickles, cheese sticks, pickles wrapped in cheese wrapped in ham, cookies--you name it, it got fried. It seemed like a good idea at the time :)

This brings me to today. Here's the rundown: half of a leadership summit (we stayed for the speakers, which is really the important part, right? Right.) THEN a two-hour road trip one way to find some 'hot springs' yes. Calling these 'hot springs' would be a stretch at minimum ;) It was fun regardless, filled with some Chex Mix, Swedish Fish, and creme soda. OH! And we ended up in Yellowstone Park via an entrance I'm sure a grand total of 10 people have ever used ever. Seriously, we were on a tiny little gravel road, rounded a corner and what do we see? A tiny little sign that says "Entering Yellowstone Park". Neato gang! All the makings of a successful afternoon? I'd like to think so.

Then tonight there was the hay maze. In costume. Then some DQ. Booyah. So that is the day in a nutshell. Also, I am going to leave you a totally awesome song from Mr. Eric Hutchinson:

I tried to find a good live good version, but to no avail. Sad day. Hahahaa. G'night everyone!

Necklaces, New Windows, and Really Bad Acting

Well hello. I am bringing you this post to bring you this message. Big Sis is having a giveaway on her blog. She makes some stellar necklaces and with this sweet deal you will get a custom one with matching earrings. Rockin'! So here's the link:

Spunky Junky Giveaway

Yep. Do it. On a completely different note I'm sitting here with Big Sis #1 and Little B watching some Miley Cyrus movie that I've asked the name of three times and still not quite sure what it is. Hm. I can tell you something fo' sho', it is NOT Hannah Montana. It does have a lot of teenage angst and bad acting, though. This is looking to be a promising night indeed :D

Anywho, as for related news, a few days ago we had the grand idea to tear out my bedroom window (it was broken in a hailstorm 3 months ago and I never got around to fixing it, who doesn't like a nice breeze, eh? Alas, I figured I should fix it before it snowed). Soooo after a whole lot of shattered glass and tearing out an ancient frame from the 60s, I had an absolutely ginormous gaping hole in my wall. Then the window didn't fit...then window #2 didn't fit...now I have a lovely one made of weatherizing plastic, cardboard, and a foam sleeping pad found in someone's garage. Pictures to be posted shortly. Don't you worry.

So, that's all the news here. Peace out.

Yes

Also, I just found my new favorite song of the week. It's called "Scream" by Hedley.
Here are some of the lyrics:

There's no rest for
The reckless who run into love
Will you scream when you're alone
Even the beautiful lose control
Will you scream when you're alone
I got a burning need to know

I can't explain my bad behavior
And baby you're my savior
And I don't wanna end up alone

Will you scream when you let go

Even the beautiful, the beautiful
Lose control

Kind of cheesy, but also kind of applicable at times ;) LOVE IT.

Johnny Wishes He Was Famous...

Quote of the day for all of you, from Marilyn Monroe:

"This life is what you make it. Not matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends--they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything--they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And babe, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soul mate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about."

Hmm...and the music re-discovery of the day: Gravity by Our Lady Peace (the entire album). Kudos to the song "Innocent" for giving us the title of this post :) By the way, I just figured out how to make text different sizes...did you notice? ;)
