Oh snap.

I passed 3500 visitors!
Yay for me.

It's the end of July now, which means school has been over for almost 3 months. Which means that for the last 3 months I've been going to sleep at pretty reasonable times.

Not tonight.

Streaming the 7th season of Boy Meets World for 3 hours has put me awake at 3:40 am. Holy moly.

So I figured blog posts written in the middle of the night are always fun, so let's have another!

Here's how the summer has been:

I don't think that actually explains anything, I just like it lots. That's from my new camera. Totally dope. Anywho, in other news, I'm flying solo while my roommate is on vacay (meaning I'm eating the cheesecake that is left in the fridge). Welp, that's all I've got so I'm going to bed.

I just wanted to share that super news and a fun picture.

P.S. I'm ready to have my long hair back. I miss it.

A Quick Lesson in Grammar

Sometimes it's easy to confuse words.
Like it's vs its.
You're vs your.
Their vs there vs they're.
Good vs well.
He/she vs him/her vs I/me.

You get the point. Today I would like to point out the difference between two other words:

Gorilla vs Guerrilla
A gorilla is a large, large mammal or a kind of glue. Period. These are the only way 'gorilla' can be used. Example: That man had so much hair he looked like a gorilla. Do not use Gorilla Glue to close minor cuts, use Super Glue instead.

Guerrilla can refer to a kind of army, marketing, or mission done in an irregular (most of the time covert) way. Example: The guerrilla army was small and mobile. The guerrilla marketing campaign included ninjas...or pictures on the street.

Now you know the difference :D

The quote of the day comes from my boss: "It's really hard to mess up Mexican food. All you need to do is fry a tortilla and load it with beans and the cheapest taco meat you can find, but every time I go to Santa Fe Red's they manage to screw it up in new, very impressive ways. Who knows what will happen when we trust them to make sandwiches!"

Hey look what I did.

After I found some film at home I went to Costco and got it developed. Here ya go. Welcome to my awkward growing up years.

4H as the Junior Grand Champion for swine. Yeeep.

See me? The Statue of Liberty there? Yeah, it was *literally* 100+ degrees out and I was wrapped in a space blanket. Worst bloody nose of my life.

Welcome to my freshman year of high school with my horse, Mouse, and my dog, Squirt. Heck yeah I rodeoed!

That was fun.

Grocery Shopping Got Me Thinking

So today I was in Safeway getting groceries. On my way to the checkout line I happened to look at the magazine rack and Justin Bieber was on the cover. Not a huge surprise. The headline under his picture, however, was kind of surprising: "The 100 Most Important Days of Justin Bieber's Life". Whaaaaat. Ok, let's Wikipedia this kid...he was born March 1, 1994. Since 1994 we have had four leap years, meaning that as of today he has been alive for 6336 days. So, if this list outlines the most 100 important days of his life that means every 63.36 days is one of the most important.

Simply put, he had a super-duper-ultimately-significant day roughly every two months. No wonder he's a big deal. I'm pretty sure I could boil my big milestones down to under 10. Let's see:
  1. Being born. Without this day I wouldn't be able to do much else.
  2. First day of school. Without a 'first day' there would be no school afterwards.
  3. Baptism. Religion is generally a large part of my life.
  4. High school graduation. Any event that warrants people giving me stuff that's not a holiday is a big deal to this kid.
  5. September 27, 2009. As if you don't already know, that was the day I started this blog.
  6. College graduation. That means I can be done with school forever and not feel like a menace to society.
Right. Ok. There's MY list. If we divide THOSE by the numbers of days I've been alive (8159), that means I have one significant event every 1359.83 days or roughly every 3.7 years. Yep.

I heart summer

I'm sitting outside, eating a popsicle and reading Harry Potter. I submit that life can't really get any better :)
