Saturday Shenanigans

So remember the movie I was going on about last night?? Yep. Made it 10 minutes in and then decided to stop watching and go fry stuff. Yeah, that's right. Liiiike coat everything we could find in tempura and deep fat fry it. Delicious. Oh yes--Snickers, zucchini, beets, pickles, cheese sticks, pickles wrapped in cheese wrapped in ham, cookies--you name it, it got fried. It seemed like a good idea at the time :)

This brings me to today. Here's the rundown: half of a leadership summit (we stayed for the speakers, which is really the important part, right? Right.) THEN a two-hour road trip one way to find some 'hot springs' yes. Calling these 'hot springs' would be a stretch at minimum ;) It was fun regardless, filled with some Chex Mix, Swedish Fish, and creme soda. OH! And we ended up in Yellowstone Park via an entrance I'm sure a grand total of 10 people have ever used ever. Seriously, we were on a tiny little gravel road, rounded a corner and what do we see? A tiny little sign that says "Entering Yellowstone Park". Neato gang! All the makings of a successful afternoon? I'd like to think so.

Then tonight there was the hay maze. In costume. Then some DQ. Booyah. So that is the day in a nutshell. Also, I am going to leave you a totally awesome song from Mr. Eric Hutchinson:

I tried to find a good live good version, but to no avail. Sad day. Hahahaa. G'night everyone!

Playing Superheroes!

Yesterday I went to class and then went and played human chess. Because my wardrobe as of the moment does not include anything remotely resembling a superhero outfit, I had to improvise. What did I do? Threw on a bunch of really colorful clothes (complete with bright purple tights and yellow legwarmers :D) and was Captain Technicolor! My superpowers included me attacking people with a highlighter when I killed them. Unfortunately, even as the queen I was killed early in the game...BY A PAWN. Lame. Anywho, later that night, I went to a BaconSoc meeting. I walked in and everyone was watching Explosm shorts (best society ever? I think so.). Moving on. We started the meeting and two of the members had to leave because they were doing a stand-up show. Being the supportive people we are, the rest of us went to watch them and their comedic debut. That all went well, THEN after they and a professional comedian were done, there was an improv show. Neato gang.

Start....NOW!

This is obviously my first post, so I will now explain the domain name. Pretty simple story: a friend was having a birthday party with an Alice in Wonderland theme and everyone had to dress up. She wanted me to be the white rabbit, so I rented an Easter bunny suit. Being a college student and paying $40 to rent that bad boy, I decided to get good use out of it. Two hours later I found myself standing at a 4-way stop on the edge of campus, donning the bunny suit and holding a cardboard sign that said, "Honk if You Love Carrots", pretty simple concept. Coincidently, it happened earlier today.

As for the title, it is always a good way to start out a story. And this is a blog, so it fits.

Now onto all the wonderful details of my life. I am currently going to school for marketing, I have two years left (hopefully that's all it will take), and I plan to get a Masters degree in something relating to business or communication.

Onto the bizarre weekend that I have been having.
1. There was an 80s themed dance last night for my church. Three showers, four hair washings, and 24 hours later, I still have glitter in my hair [Dear Katy Perry, The whole 'Get up and shake the glitter off your clothes' thing, isn't quite that easy.]. Not only that, by 12:30 a.m. last night I had ditched most of the garb, save the off the shoulder t-shirt, mini skirt and leggings and wandered around Walmart with a buddy whilst looking for spandex shorts.
2. Bikram yoga at 9 a.m. after going to bed at 2. 105 degrees when I was barely awake? Enough said. This was the reason for getting spandex shorts.
3. Peewee football game that two of my friends coach. Freakin' sweet.
4. Bunny costume ordeal. It is hands down the creepiest animal costume ever. Huge head, huge eyes, and I probably caught some funky disease. Just kidding! The guy at the rental shop gave me a sweet deal on it. Mostly because he also thought it was frightening and didn't think I would actually wear it.
5. Actual Alice and Wonderland party. Picture this: fancy dining room, playing cards flying everywhere, creepy bunny, Alice, Queen of Hearts on a pretty spectacular sugar overload, Mad Hatter and Tweedle Dee wearing a bucket hat with a fake gopher on it (which was also present at the dance last night. Hmmmm.....), and a whole lot of party poppers. Heck yes. Then all sorts of fun dancing on the lawn in the dark. Christmas lights strung here, there, and everywhere with Chinese lanterns attached.

And then we come to what happened tonight after the party. Nothing spectacular, actually.
