I heart this song.

I recall a long farewell and a time to choose
So we part like rivers baby, yeah like rivers do
But I still talk about you though and wonder
How it is your life will unfold

Show me what it looks like
Outside your window at twilight
Show me what it looks like

I recall drivin' home, this ain't gonna hit me till God knows when
You know I feel it in my bones and I wear it on my skin
But there ain't no use in right or wrong,
A heart must go where it belongs

Show me what it looks like
Outside your window at twilight
Is it me that you see dancing on a line,
Singing I could be yours if you would be mine
C'mon and grow old with me and surely you'll see

And I remember thinking, that boy you must be dreaming

So hold on, hold on, before it's all gone
And I do remember thinking
That your world will go on spinning
Without me now, so come on, come on please

Show me what it looks like
Outside your window at twilight, yeah

Yeah, show me what it looks like
Outside your window at twilight
Is it me that you see dancing on a line,
Singing I could be yours if you would be mine
Show me what it looks like,
Show me what it looks like,
Show me what it looks like.
C'mon and grow old with me and surely you'll see

I recall a long farewell and a time to choose
So we part like rivers baby, yeah like rivers do

This isn't actually about anything. **Updated**

Yep. Still on sabbatical BUT I am completely moved and am arr arone in my new apartment, until later this week at least. In other news, I made (cooked. from scratch.) some bomb Hawaiian Haystacks, I went to the farmer's market this morning, took a trek across town to fetch my bike (in flip flops, nonetheless), laid out on the balcony in the sun, and have a new obsession with this song:

Right. Glad we had that discussion. Now I'm babysitting the little tyke while Big Sis and BrotherInLaw go to the movies for Father's Day. Whoo!! So that's about all I've got. I hit 60+ hours for working this week and my brain isn't at full functionality so if I think of anything laterrrr I'll post it. Peace out.

Just kidding. For real, I finally had a day off--no work, no packing, no unpacking, no cleaning, no homework, nowhere to be, and nothing super duper important to do. It was glorious. You've already been filled in on most of my day. The only part missing was the part where I told you that I sat here watching Modern Family for 3 hours. Amazing. Now I'm going to go raid the freezer for some ice cream. Booyah!

The Start of Summer Sabbatical

Yes. I have been on a sabbatical. Actually, I just haven't had internet at my house for the last month and a half and I don't really like posting stuff from my phone, it takes for-eh-ver. Anywho, in Kelty news, I'm an intern at a software company, I'm moving somewhere this weekend (I don't know where yet), and it never stops pouring rain in Montana. True story. Other than that I've got nothing. Pictures from this summer? Ok! Blanket forts, gnome adventures, and a White Trash Trailer Bash as a last hoorah before I move out of the trailer. Sad day.

Let me tell you about THE TRAILER. This has been my humble abode for the last 4 years and I'm actually quite torn up about leaving. As a recap, on August 16, 2007 I moved in with 1 CAR LOAD of stuff (compared to how much I moved this afternoon alone that's not much). Anywho, since that time I've had:
  • 8 roommates
  • 3 birthday parties (of my own)
  • 10+ frozen pipe experiences
  • 1 new garbage disposal
  • 8 semesters of school
  • 132 college credits
  • 2 degrees
  • 5 jobs
  • 3 cars
  • 3 laptops
  • 1 trip to Ireland
Yep. That's a pretty good list. If I think of anything else I'll chuck it up there. But alas, as of Sunday at 1 pm I will no longer live in the trailer and am moving on with my life. [sigh]. So this song is a shout out to the Yellow Gallatin 1972 Mobile Home in which I currently reside:

Yeah. That just happened, not super relevant but whatevs. Peace out homies.

To Kill a Mockingbird? Is that an instruction manual?

Here is a nice labeled picture for all of you that [I feel] aptly describes the title of this post.

Ok. Quickbreakdown:

The window belongs to my bedroom.
The tree is the {main} cause of all my problems.
The owl resides somewhere in the arbitrary blue circular area.

Sometimes when I'm minding my business, just trying to sleep, right up to the point where in T-minus 5 seconds I'll be out like trout, ALL I can hear is: tap...tap...tappity...tappitytaptap. The tree is hitting the window. Again. This happens when it's windy. This happens when it's rainy. This happens basically anytime the world is revolving.

Then, when none of the above things are happening and it is nice and warm and generally a good night (or early morning), the owl decides to come out and play. By play I mean 'hoot' at about 37 second intervals.

Yeah. So if it's not the tree, it's the owl. Ohmygoodness. That's the story of the day of how trees and owls are the bane of my existence.

Easily relateable to this:

Moving on, I love Something Corporate, so here's a song for y'all:

GRADUATION!!!...belated

YEAH BUDDY! I graduated. I also haven't had internet at my house for the past week so I haven't posted any pictures or made the sweet list you're all about to see because, as neato as the Blogger app is, it does not let me link stuff or post videos or any cool shtuff like that. Here we go.

The Top 5 List for Best Graduation Songs of All Time According to Moi:

5. Good Riddance by Green Day

4. Graduation Day by Head Automatica

3. Senioritis by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (not really about graduation, but whatevs. This is my list.)

2. These Are the Days by Natalie and Ten Thousand Maniacs. This had to make an appearance as it was the song that played during my high school graduation. It probs wouldn't have made the list otherwise.

1. Graduation (Friends Forever) by Vitamin C. YEAH BUDDY! Once again reaffirming my love of 90s music. Bahahaaaa.

Hope you liked the list. Another thing I missed was Mother's Day! So a shout out to my lovely, lovely mom, without whom I would not be here nor would this blog. Sad. But alas! Thank you mama! I love you lots! Happy Mother's Day!

Whoa

I just realized how many posts I write but never post. Curious. However, now I've installed a Blogger app on my phone and that makes it easier to post stuff. Whoo!!! And here is a fantastic picture for you all:

(sorry it's so pixelated. That would be courtesy of the photo editing program on my phone from which I am currently typing)

Almost there!

One final and one interview and then I am DONE! How fantastic. That and I got a nap in today. Spectacular :)

An Invaluable List of Stuff to Know

**I was taking a gander through all of my unpublished posts and found this little beauty; I wrote it sometime last semester. Enjoy!**

Lists, lists, lists...I heart making lists. This particular one is about something that has had me thinking lately--that and it's easy to update this sucker when making lists because there are sooo many possibilities. However, that in itself is a topic for a different day. Here we are today, with TOPIC at hand:

Stuff I didn't learn until I came to college (being in year #4 I figure I should have a pretty good grasp on this):
  • When single, the fridge door will become a smorgasbord of wedding and baby announcements, weird crap from your friends, and pizza coupons
  • While shopping at Costco seems like a good idea, there is no actual way to eat 64 tortillas by yourself
  • Packing lunches is cool
  • 1 a.m. is a perfectly acceptable time to go grocery shopping
  • $8 of free printing is worth more than any other $8 you will ever have. Ever.
  • All great ideas and profound wisdom occur between 2 and 4 a.m...right alongside some of the worst decisions you will ever make (ie. headbutting contest at 3 a.m.)
  • 8 hours of sleep a day actually is achievable, but only because of naps
  • Eating a meal of cereal (without milk), crackers and Easy Cheese, ramen, and lemonade is perfectly acceptable
  • It is quite possible to write a 5 page paper in two hours and have an in depth discussion on something you never read
  • There is never an hour of freedom sweeter than that of a canceled class. This hour will also be promptly wasted.
  • Setting only one alarm is not effective.
  • Being sick will become the default status of your health when more than 2 days a week are spent on campus.
  • The expiration date on milk is more of a suggestion.
  • **Updated** Find more here.
Welp, hope y'all enjoyed that.

    I love me a bonfire

EasterEasterEaster. So today marks a momentous occasion, it's the first Easter of my life when I have not gotten ANY Easter candy. AT ALL. Sad day. But it was still I think one of the best ones yet. Why???
    • Breakfast with Big Sis
    • Church
    • Sunday nap (lovely, just lovely)
    • Dinner with the ward
    • Bonfire. Yes bonfire. Oh my. I heart bonfires.
That's about all. Now for the marketing nerdery lesson of the day: origins of the phrase "When it rains it pours". This actually originated with Morton Salt. Traditionally salt would harden when it would rain due to the condensation and thus, would not pour out of its container. Then Morton all came along and developed a new kind of salt that would pour out of the nifty little round blue container even in humid and damp climates. Word. Because of how innovative this non-hardening salt was, they needed a totally rad slogan to promote this addition to the salt industry. Cue "When it rains it pours", which now has come to have an entirely different meaning, but whatevs, now you know :D

    Happy Easter my lovelies!
